ABOUT US

We are civil society organization whose membership base constitute a variety of players in the livestock sector.

 

Our membership comprises highly capable and experienced farmers, academicians, researchers, service providers, farm input suppliers, livestock value chain actors and all key stakeholders in the livestock sub-sector in Uganda.

 

​Since its inception, LDF has carried out several consultative meetings, workshops, research projects and other development-based counteraction programs aimed at promotion of sustainable livestock production.

To provide a conducive environment which supports sustainable livestock production in Uganda.

Our goal is Promotion of Sustainable Livestock Production and Productivity.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

A. To pool all stakeholders’ efforts and means to solve the challenges faced by the livestock subsector.


B. To review and seek to influence policies concerning the livestock subsector in order to enable them effectively address the current challenges, specifically putting emphasis on the needs, concerns of stakeholders in the livestock subsector.


C. To monitor the implementation of government policies and programs so as to measure their effectiveness and, where necessary, make suggestions for improvement.


D. To present the Association as a body with which the government can engage in the budgeting and funding of the livestock subsector.


E. To develop and implement activities that are beneficial to the improvement of members enterprises.
